چکیده

ARCOTREND index (NI) is based on studies of normal human brain electrical data. It uses an ordinary electrode to collect and analysis brain electrical signals immediately at any position of the head, to display the state of consciousness and depth of anesthesia of patients on the touch screen after automatic analysis and classification, so as to guide dose adjustment of anesthetics. NI may make the consciousness and depth of anesthesia monitoring safe, simple, accurate, and economic. It is important that NI is more accurate than classical electroencephalographic variables. Weber et al believed that the NI was an objective and true index in the evaluation of propofol sedation in children.

Clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of depth of anaesthesia monitoring (E-Entropy, Bispectral Index and Narcotrend): a systematic review and economic evaluation.

BACKGROUND It is important that the level of general anaesthesia (GA) is appropriate for the individual patient undergoing surgery. If anaesthesia is deeper than required to keep a patient unconscious, there might be increased risk of anaesthetic-related morbidity, such as postoperative nausea, vomiting and cognitive dysfunction. This may also prolong recovery times, potentially increasing heal...

Clinical Use of a Multivariate Electroencephalogram (Narcotrend) for Assessment of Anesthetic Depth in Horses during Isoflurane–Xylazine Anesthesia

OBJECTIVE To investigate the use of the Narcotrend electroencephalogram (EEG) monitor for the assessment of anesthetic depth in horses undergoing xylazine balanced isoflurane anesthesia. STUDY DESIGN Blinded experimental study. ANIMALS Seven healthy warm-blooded horses, aged 10.6 ± 5.9 years, weighing 535 ± 55 kg. METHODS Horses were anesthetized for a terminal surgical trial with xylazin...

Monitoring Depth of Anesthesia by Nonlinear Correlation Measures

Background: Monitoring the depth of anesthesia (DOA) takes an important role for anesthetists in order avoiding undesirable reactions such as intraoperative awareness, prolonged recovery and increased risk of postoperative complications. The Central Nervous System (CNS) is the main target of anesthetic drugs, hence EEG signal processing during anesthesia is helpful for monitoring DOA. In order t...

Background and Objective: Operation field in surgeries like sinus endoscopy, rhinoplasty, tympanoplasty, and mastoidectomy is limited and difficult to achieve. Bleeding in the field of these surgeries can opaque operation fields and ultimately affect surgery outcome. This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between anesthesia depth and transparency of operation field in the first and secon...
